Begin anywhere, but right now!

I’ve had it up to here with the pressure of having to BUY HEALTH! Honestly. It’s a racket!! with that said I don’t mean that, according to scientific research, everything human, doesn’t get better with healthy movement, healthy mindset and healthy lifestyle. That is 100% true, and proven so many many times over. Our lifestyle affects our health. It’s not just a question of genes. But the pressure under which we are to OBTAIN the PERFECT WORKOUT or BUY the ULTIMATE GADGET or, well you know what I’m talking about, is really more of a deterrent than a magnet.

Even the pressure of looking a certain way, and attaching life success to that appearance, is just something we need to continue discussing. Not only the pressure to BE fit or “thin” but seriously the pressure to not talk about how dangerous it is to live unhealthy and to be obese. Being obese affects all illnesses in the body. Atherosclerosis in women is worsened by obesity, and the death numbers are higher than those of breast cancer. It’s studied and proven, but not equally talked about. Not to talk about how having an unhealthy lifestyle has affected people in this pandemic. These are just a few examples, and I feel somewhat hopeless about it at times. Then I feel hopeful! What I know is: we have to change how we talk about this topic. We need to move the rhetoric towards whatÄs real and true, and not just a SELL FOR PROFIT. I have several friends and colleagues that simply inspire to live a sustainable life, and they inspire me every day. I’ll share a list of them at the end of this blog.

I have the knowledge and thankfully the patience to not stop talking about how anyone and everyone can get access to a healthier lifestyle. I thank my Serbian mother for a stubbornness, that I know will never cease trusting and believing I and we can make a positive difference. It’s a topic of discussion, assessment and respect. But also a topic of possibility, action and hope. It affects one in the same way it will affect the group and our Mother Earth. We have the power to make a change, and what’s required is not to MUST have a gym, not to MUST shop at Whole Foods, not to MUST BUY the most expensive gadgets. Also what required is to NOT WAIT ANOTHER MOMENT!

There is a place to begin, and it’s called “anywhere”. Your tool is your body and your mind, Your gym is the ground your standing on. Your foods are the ones you grow in the garden, or by at your local farmers, to support their small business. Anywhere you are right about now, you can get started.

The way to start is just to start. Go for a walk. Sit up it your bed after waking up, and take 10 deeps breaths. Drink some more water. Start with anything that is cleansing or refreshing for you, and in your immediate surrounding. Then after doing 5-10 minutes a day for a couple of weeks, it’s time to progress. There s a place for everyone to start and everyone to continue. From 5 minutes a day, which is more than 0, you will build your own path brick by brick. It is the most important investment you will ever make, since your health (physical, mindset, emotional) dictates your brains function.

There will be a time and a place to BUY the health and fitness you want and need. There will be a time when hiring a professional to move forward is something you would like to invest in. But right now, just get started.
